I went on the big ‘Make Poverty History’ march in Edinburgh on Saturday. Thought I might as well show my support for a good cause. Apparently there were 225,000 people there (according to the BBC). The march certainly took longer than expected to get started. We were waiting for hours for enough people in front of us to set off before we could.
I discovered that it's not easy to take well composed photos of crowds, especially when you're part of them. This is about the best I could do:

I actually had more time on the train to take photos, although obviously a lot of them didn't come out. But here's an interesting tree about 20 minutes north of York:

On the way back to the station we popped into a wee pub called the Royal Oak for a couple of swift pints, to fortify us for the long journey. The beer was nice, and they do lots of folk and other music. There were a couple of guys there (actually, when we arrived, half the patrons) playing guitars and singing.
